A Question of Business Administration Practices

In a recent post, one blogger fervently defended business administrator, Gary Ottmann's "right" not to have Plainfielder's be aware of some accusations made by the Wayne School district and the State of New Jersey. (<-- Click for the actual audit) We disagree. As a tax payer, one deserves to know if Ottmann actually DID get caught with his hand in the cookie jar, or left fingerprints or even crumbs! After all, by some accounts, he may have helped cause a city tax increase!

The information, while possibly inconclusive, should suggest that we at least read and judge for ourselves, despite the blogger's apparent attempt at scaring us away from the issue.

For far too long, there has been far too much for far too many to speak too often about Plainfield that is way too terrible! We are in a state of educational crisis and our future hangs in the balance.

Stand up! Stand proudly, and stand for what is right in Plainfield's future. Regardless of your connection in Plainfield, it is time to rally around the cause that will improve the rate of survival and freedom for Plainfield youth. NO other gift is more precious than that of LIFE.

And when you delve into the inner workings of the school system and ask those sometimes uncomfortable questions, know that you are well within your rights and obligations to do so. Be as nosey as you wish... Be as inquisitive as you dare...be in the know about what affects our youngsters in the school system, because they represent and carry messages from us to a time we shall not be fortunate enough to know, but during which we can be heard, nonetheless.

What Plainfield Students Need??? by weaponof1, 10/19/08

1. Attention from ALL parents paid to the sound policies and governance of the school system;

2. Support for their EDUCATORS;

3. Materials for LEARNING;

4. True DISCIPLINE in the schools;

5. A COMPLETE AUDIT OF EVERY ASPECT OF THE BUREAUCRACY THAT IS THE PLAINFIELD SCHOOL SYSTEM;

6. COMMUNITY CENTERS THAT SUPPORT EDUCATION;

7. SPORTS COACHES WHO ALL CARE MORE ABOUT ACADEMIC TEST SCORES THAN TOUCH DOWNS, HOMERUNS OR FIELD GOALS;

8. A CITY GOVERNMENT THAT TRULY HELPS RATHER THAN JUST ENGAGING IN POLITICAL POSTURING OR SELF-PROMOTION IN OUR SCHOOLS, AS WELL AS IN OUR STREETS AND HOMES;

9. A REVAMPING OF THE CURRICULUM TO TEACH EVERYONE ABOUT THE LEGACY AND ATROCITY OF SLAVERY, AS WELL AS THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF AFRIKANS WHO BUILT THIS COUNTRY WITH THEIR BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS;

10. A POLICE PRESENCE THAT WILL WORK HARDER TO GUIDE CHILDREN AND KEEP THEM AND THEIR LOVED ONES SAFE FROM HARM;

11. SOCIAL SERVICES IN THE SCHOOLS DEVOID OF LAZINESS, POLITICAL AGENDAS, CYNICISM OF TEACHERS, AND MISUNDERSTANDINGS OR MISPERCEPTIONS OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL PROCESSES, NECESSITIES AND BEST PRACTICES;

12. ADMINISTRATION WITH IMPECCABLE TRAINING, EXPERTISE, PROFESSIONALISM, FAITH, INTEGRITY, COURAGE, DEDICATION, LEADERSHIP SKILLS, DIPLOMACY, AND A FIRM YET FLEXIBLE MINDSET TO HELP "MAKE IT HAPPEN," ONCE AND FOR ALL.

IN AN ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT, WHAT IS NEEDED IS NOTHING LESS THAN THE SPARK OF BRILLIANCE THAT SHINES AND LIGHTS OUR COLLECTIVE PATHWAYS FROM THE DARKNESS OF IGNORANCE. WE NEED TOTAL RESPECT FOR LEARNING AND TRUE UNITY...ONCE AND FOR ALL!
